Hypnotherapy is a way to positively reprogram the subconscious mind. During a hypnotherapy session, your mind and body are in a heightened state of receptivity, allowing yourself to be open to suggestions for self-improvement. Through hypnotherapy the subconscious and conscious mind can be in harmony, which in turn makes it easier to make behavioral and emotional changes. Your subconscious will only respond to reprogramming that results in positive behavioral changes you are seeking.

Jane is now offering hypnotherapy sessions. Those of you who have experienced mindfulness sessions will recognize the similarities between the two modalities. The main difference is that mindfulness is commonly used for stress control and general relaxation. A hypnotherapy session is very relaxing and helpful for stress management as well, but it has the added benefit of reprogramming the subconscious with a particular goal in mind. These goals are generally related to breaking an unwanted habit, or overcoming a fear or anxiety. Hypnotherapy helps build self-confidence and improve self-esteem in a confidential, calming, trusting environment.

Jane Mackler has a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from Tufts University and was trained and certified as a hypnotherapist in the state of New York. She was in private practice in Vermont and joined the International Association of Clinical Hypnotherapy in 1984.
